MOTORCYCLE ART

I can be described as a contemporary realist painter, my style is photorealistic or hyperrealistic. Always fascinated by the way light and color falls upon objects and defines them, creating pattern and rhythm intrigues me.  Simple yet complicated. I am not concerned with recreating exact copies of photographs, but rather in manipulating and altering them, heightening the impressions of color and light, to create an image that becomes more meaningful to me. The abstract qualities of the forms dominate, the shapes, reflections, spaces, and colors are forever interesting to me. The emotional impact that the motorcycle has on the American culture draws viewers to the work. We are creatures of feeling as well as thought and I strive in my work, to have the viewer stop and take the time to see what they think they know, and be surprised by what they see.

A sunny afternoon outside the Dinosaur Bar-b-que in Syracuse, a great place to see bikes (and eat) was the inspiration for this piece.

This is one of the largest paintings I've done in a long time and should be viewed from a distance. If you look, you can see the repeated reflections of the Dinosaur Bar-b-que (always a great place to find shiny bikes) in the chrome.
